Rima's Review:

FIRST IMPRESSION:

First impression? Well… for Fruit basket I really thought the anime was based ON real Fruits when I saw the name. I didn’t actually get the name and I was more towards of not watching it. That was until my friends all watched it and I found the cds in my hand. So, I was basically forced to watch them in a way. The beginning, it was like a fan fiction I had read. And was just basically staring at my computer screen and thinking this is so stupid. I didn’t really like the art. And the plot seemed really weird to me. I mean in there was a girl who was ALWAYS cheerful and BLAH I mean I have read, watched so many animes that I was not content on watching this LAME (overdone) type of anime that EVERYONE seems to be watching. I also did not see the greatest in it. Overall, the first impression wasn’t all that great.

RATING: 5/10

PLOT:

Actually there wasn’t really a plot I mean it was based on the Chinese horoscopes, a curse and how a innocent girl was sucked into the curse (blah blah) and there is OF COURSE a LOVE triangle. But since I love anything that has to do with Chinese horoscopes I was quickly pulled in by this anime. Since this is a shoujo anime, I wasn’t too excited about it. I was stuck in the middle and I didn’t know what to think. But, as soon I was on episode 3 I was laughing. I came to love the humour, the drama and the message this anime gives out. This anime to me seem to go deep with the situations the characters faced but at the same time it was funny to watch. This anime gave out a great message even without us knowing it. The anime is very calm and relaxing. It’s not dark, its very light and very amusing. You would watch this anime just to know what other crazy situations the characters will face. Whenever I watch fruits basket, I always feel happy and calm and there is always a huge smile on my face after I finish watching this anime. Overall, with its humour and uniqueness I came to LOVE this anime!

Rating: 8/10

CHARACTER:

Characters, characters and characters! I just love the fact that the characters have the personalities of the year they were born in and I just love how they interact with each other. It shows in a way that if you were born in the year of the snake you would probably get along with the people born in the dog year. The characters are very human. They see and learn from their mistakes, and I feel that you can relate to a particular character or more. I just love how they a variety of different types of characters from happy to sad or weird or even who have sixth sense. Its just kooL! XD And it is these characters that make the anime really awesome.

Rating: 10/10

ART:

The manga and the anime’s art were on a similar level. There weren’t many differences. A few you might notice but not that many. I actually didn’t like the art that much except when they drew the animals. They were cute XD. However, I didn’t like how the eyes were so big and there were a lot of guys that looked like girls *cough*yuki*cough*. Let’s say it was both bad and good. I like the uniqueness in it how they drew the characters. It’s really nice. Overall my rating would be in the middle.

Rating: 5/10

MUSIC:

The music is very smooth, calm and sweet. Its like a lullaby, it makes you want to go to sleep. Overall I like the music/Theme song VERY MUCH! It was probably one of the first things I liked in fruit baskets. It just made you very calm and relaxed so you would be able to watch the anime. In general, I LOVE the music.

Rating: 8.5/10

OVERALL:

Overall… I say this fruits basket Rocks! This is a shoujo anime and its very FUNNY! This anime is for people who like reading the Chinese horoscopes (lol) but also people who just want to laugh and have good time watching an anime. This is a GREAT series. I FULLY love IT.
